"One thing you know for sure, Two things you know for certain"

Last Summer I went to Brazil. I still have quite a bit of audio, stories, and travel moments from that trip to release. When I came back I started pitching a series of interviews I did of other travelers that I met. It's safe to say, that I am fairly slow to release work, past trips are still unreleased.

I’m finding out that as an independent creator, I need either a writing prompt or a specific show I am pitching with a deadline to get work out. When I was abroad, I received a prompt from a poet doing a show back in The Bay. The prompt was: “What’s one thing you know for sure, and two things you know for certain?”

I was staying on an Island in Rio. It was a city Island in a southern, out-of-the-way neighborhood. You had to take a boat to get to the house where I was staying. Because going out included getting a water taxi, I stayed in one night and recorded my response to this prompt. I had a grand plan to make a cool music video and instead recorded myself walking on the beach in Rio as the video to go with my poem.
